PAINTING CLASSES
In this specialized program, Master Artist, Karen Paul offers her students the very best in quality instruction, professional art materials and engaging curriculum in an encouraging environment. Get started in this wonderful spontaneous medium where you will learn all the techniques you need to know to control the flow of the paint and still allow for that freshness and beauty in brushstrokes.
In today’s world of the quick study learning environment, you might learn what to paint, but are your instructors really teaching you how to paint. With mastery level skills honed through both academic training as well as individual brush mileage, Karen has developed a grasp of the subject of watercolor like few artist have. She has also refined her gift of teaching and has found great joy in pouring back into students of all ages as they progress on their own art journey.
Starting from the very basics of artistic expression, Karen teaches her students how to understand light and shadow, color mixing and color harmonies, as well as how to paint a three dimensional illusion on a flat surface and make it look realistic.
Skills taught this year will include:
- Drawing and composition
- Color theory and color mixing
- Light and shadow
- Painting techniques
- Brush skills
- Development of creative expression and problem solving
- A positive frame of mind as we learn and create together!
Each sesson consists of four consecutive classes and you are free to continue as long as you like.

FOUNDATIONS IN PAINTING
Monday Afternoon: 1:00pm – 2:30 pm
Monday Evening: 6:00-7:30 pm
COLOR YOUR WORLD
Tuesday: 1:00pm -2:30pm

For your convenience we are offering the LIVE, VIRTUAL CLASSES from my studio to the comfort of your home filmed with our multi Camera set up via ZOOM.
A little about the Instructor…
Karen’s expertise lies in her ability to teach students of ANY level. Her skills as a Master Artist coupled with her patience and compassion are the driving force behind her successful art school. Karen is very kind, engaging and enthusiastic. She holds both a Bachelor of Art in Illustration, and a Master of Fine Art in Painting from The Academy of Art in San Francisco. In addition she is a licensed teacher in Arizona with a emphasis in Expertise in Art.
